How the rankings work
Contractors are ranked by the number of building permits they pulled in the trailing 12 months across the Arizona jurisdictions we cover, counting only permits we can resolve to an AZ ROC license. A contractor's share is their portion of all ROC-resolved permits in that city or trade. The rankings measure visible permit activity, not total revenue — a contractor working mainly in an uncovered jurisdiction will be undercounted.
Who are the most active contractors in Arizona?+
We rank Arizona contractors by the number of building permits they’ve pulled across Arizona in the last 12 months, resolved to their AZ ROC license. Browse the rankings by city — from Phoenix and Mesa to Tucson and Yuma — or by trade (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, pool, concrete, and more).
How is the contractor ranking calculated?+
By building-permit volume over the trailing 12 months, counting only permits we can resolve to an AZ ROC license, within the Arizona jurisdictions we cover. Each contractor’s share is their portion of all ROC-resolved permits in that city or trade.
How current are the leaderboards?+
They’re rebuilt from a daily rollup of permit activity, so the rankings reflect the last 12 months of work as of the most recent permit data.
Why is a contractor I know missing or ranked low?+
The rankings reflect the permit data we hold. A contractor who works mainly in a jurisdiction we don’t yet cover, or whose permits aren’t resolved to an ROC license, will be undercounted. The rankings measure visible permit activity, not total revenue.
