- Excavate a trench from the gas meter to the wall. - Install polyethylene (PE) pipe and code-compliant riser on both the meter and house sides. - Install black iron pipe along the wall, approximately 20 feet, leading to the laundry room. - Penetrate the wall and route piping into the laundry room. - Extend the pipe within the laundry room along the wall to the existing pipe location. - Ensure that all exposed piping is strapped and supported in accordance with code requirements. - Straighten existing piping as necessary to facilitate connection to the new pipe. - Provide support for existing piping as required. - If the furnace is found to be out of code, install a new sediment trap and new gas flex line. - Conduct pressure tests on both the new and existing piping.
