EWS COMPLETED AN ERCES DESIGN TO MEET THE 2024 IFC AND GUIDELINES SET BY THE AHJ. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DESIGN INSTALL ARE AS FOLLOW: THE FIFTH-FLOOR SOUTHWEST SIDE IDF CLOSET OF THE MAIN BUILDING WILL BE USED AS THE HEAD END (CONTAINING THE ACTIVE PUBLIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT). EWS WILL NEED APPROXIMATELY 5'X5' SPACE ON A WALL TO PLACE ACTIVE EQUIPMENT AND BATTERY BACKUP. ACTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRES A DEDICATED 20A AC CIRCUIT(HARDWIRED) WITH A BREAKER LOCK. PER THE REFERENCED FIRE CODE, ALL VERTICAL/BACKBONE CABLING AND ACTIVE EQUIPMENT (BDA, BATTERY BACKUP, AND REMOTE AMPLIFIERS) ARE REQUIRED TO BE INSTALLED WITHIN FIRE RATED PATHWAYS AND ROOMS (RESPECTIVELY) MATCHING THAT OF THE BUILDING. FULLY SPRINKLERED BUILDINGS ARE EXEMPT FROM ANY FIRE-RATING REQUIREMENTS. ANY FIRE-RATING CONSIDERATIONS (IF REQUIRED) TO BE PROVIDED BY THE CUSTOMER. THE BACKBONE CABLING WILL BE INSTALLED IN 2" CONDUIT (FBO). COUPLERS CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THIS CABLE WILL BE INSTALLED IN CUSTOMER-PROVIDED JUNCTION BOXES. HORIZONTAL CABLE RUNS WILL BE INSTALLED ON METAL J HOOKS OR WITHIN EXISTING CABLE TRAY OR PATHWAYS WHERE AVAILABLE. 2" SLEEVES WILL BE USED TO PASS COAX CABLE THROUGH FIRE WALLS ON EACH FLOOR, AS REQUIRED. THE DONOR ANTENNA ON THE ROOF NEEDS TO BE MOUNTED ABOVE ALL OTHER EQUIPMENT AND WALLS IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SERVING SITE (DESSERT HILLS TOWER TO THE SOUTH). THE SURGE PROTECTOR ON THE DONOR LINE MUST BE GROUNDED. NOTE THE BUILDING'S GROUNDING SYSTEM MUST HAVE 5 OHMS OF RESISTANCE OR LESS.
